Josh Waxman

Deputy Director

Josh Waxman joined Camp Harbor View’s leadership team in 2018 as Deputy Director. In this role, Josh manages and leads the daily operations of the program team, which includes three departments: social work, leadership for grades 9-12, and operations. Camp Harbor View’s program team supports approximately 1,000 youth and families annually. Additionally, Josh works closely with the President, Executive Director and development team on long-term strategic planning, volunteer engagement, and fundraising.

Josh brings over a decade of leadership experience that spans the non-profit and public sectors to Camp Harbor View. Previously, Josh served as the Executive Director of the Martin Richard Foundation. Prior to that, Josh served as Senior Director of Community Partnerships at the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley. Josh began his career in nonprofit management at City Year, where he completed a year of national service through AmeriCorps and was then hired into a management position on staff.

Josh is very active as a volunteer in the community. Josh serves as the board chair at Orchard Gardens K-8 Pilot School, and as a board member at La. Vida, Inc. Josh is also a proud big brother through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a certificate in non-profit management and leadership from the Institute for Non-Profit Practice at Tufts University’s Tisch College of Civic Life.

Josh is a proud resident of Dorchester.
