Sandy Ruecha

Database Manager

Sandy Ruecha serves as the Database Manager at Camp Harbor View. In this role, she is responsible for the organization’s database infrastructure, implementing and managing system features that enable and improve CHV programs and operations. She is also responsible for system maintenance and procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.

Sandy joined Camp Harbor View in 2019 as the 9th Grade RISE Program Coordinator. From enrollment to mentorship, Sandy played a key role in creating and facilitating enriching curriculum and workshops for more than one hundred teens during their first year of the CHV Leadership Academy, cultivating rising leaders to be successful in the Leader in Training program.

Prior to CHV, she was the Assistant Director of Out of School Time at the Roxbury YMCA. During her tenure at the Roxbury YMCA, she helped the program site achieve enrollment goals, advocated for more resources to enrich the environment for children ages 5-13 years old, and maintained EEC licensure. Earlier in her career, she was a preschool teacher at the Abbott Children’s Learning Center in Wellesley, teaching children critical language, social, and motor skills.

Sandy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Boston College. She lives in Boston and continues to be actively involved in the community.

Bob O’Connell

Bob O’Connell

Director of Facilities

Bob O’Connell is the Director of Facilities at Camp Harbor View. In this role he oversees all aspects of CHV’s island campus on Long Island in Boston Harbor along with our two year-round office locations in Boston. Joining the team in 2009, Bob was instrumental in supporting both facility growth and summer programs in the camp’s early years. Before assuming his year-round role, Bob served Camp Harbor View as the Director of Maintenance for ten summer seasons. Bob excels in the logistical challenges of running a camp on an island while efficiently managing staff and contractors and lending support to the camp’s program partners.

With 25 years of experience working in teen counseling and mentoring combined with nearly 20 years in the construction and property management field, Bob brings a unique set of skills to his role. His passion and commitment to teens is evidenced by the time he devotes to the camp’s youth emphasizing hard work, education, and responsibility. Bob is excited about his future within this community.

Jaclyn McGrory

Jaclyn McGrory

Director of Events & Partnerships

Jaclyn McGrory is Camp Harbor View’s Director of Events and Partnerships. In this role, she is focused on fundraising, development, and bringing memorable experiences to donors and community members through mission focused events and gatherings.

Jaclyn has experience in many areas of the events industry including weddings, private events, corporate events, and fundraising galas. Most recently, she worked with the American Cancer Society for over five years, overseeing distinguished events for the Boston market. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality and tourism administration with a concentration in events management from Endicott College.

In addition to leading on CHV events, she keeps her logistic and design skills current working with local event designer J Barry Designs. Jaclyn currently resides in Waltham, spending free time with friends, family, and her two rescue dogs, Remy and Penny.

Jillian Martin, LCSW

Jillian Martin, LCSW

Camp Director

Jillian Martin joined the Camp Harbor View team at the beginning of the 2018 summer season. During the summer, she is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day at camp, including the daily activities, program partners, and staff. With over 10 years of experience in summer programming for youth, Jillian truly believes that children learn best when they’re having fun and children have the most fun when they’re at camp. During the school year, Jillian’s head is always in summer as she plans for the next camp season. Her goal is for campers to return each summer and learn something new in a fun and safe environment.

Jillian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Boston University and a Master of Social Work from Simmons College. When she is not planning for camp, she can be found running with Sole Sisters Running Club or volunteering with Jewish Big Brother Big Sisters of Boston’s Magic! Program.

Danielle Halderman

Director of Finance & Human Resources

Danielle Halderman joined Camp Harbor View as the Director of Human Resources in 2017 bringing over 26 years of experience in both the non-profit and corporate sectors.

Danielle’s passion is to build talented, diverse, inclusive workplaces where employees thrive being their authentic selves, a culture where diversity is not just a conversation but a vital business imperative. Prior to joining Camp Harbor View, Danielle spent 8 years at The Partnership Inc., a non-profit firm that provides strategic planning, support, and guidance for organizations to build diverse leadership at every career stage.

For nearly 10 years, Danielle has served as a mentor and board member for Silver Lining Mentoring, serving youth in foster care through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life skills. Danielle continues to emphasize the value of mentorship for hundreds of young people at Camp Harbor View.

Danielle and her husband, Brian, reside in Swampscott and enjoy teaching young people leadership skills through their love of sailing.

Dyana Guillaume

Dyana Guillaume

Special Projects Coordinator

Dyana Guillaume has been a part of the Camp Harbor View family since 2011. Dyana started as a camper at the age of 12, went through the Leader in Training Program, and then became a member of the summer camp staff, as both a group leader and a team leader. She is now a full-time member of the Camp Harbor View team as the Special Projects Coordinator.  She also works closely with Executive Vice President, Lisa Fortenberry, and Chief Operating Officer, Josh Waxman, managing their calendars along with program operations and day-to-day office needs.

As the Special Projects Coordinator, Dyana takes on projects such as service days and offsite events offered to families throughout the school year.  She also works closely with Jenny Callahan, Director of Scholarships & Alumni Engagement, on the Camp Harbor View Scholarship Program. In addition, during the summer, Dyana helps manage day-to-day camp operation needs as well as coaching and supporting group leaders at camp.

Dyana graduated from Emmanuel College with her Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Science and Criminology.  Although Dyana got her degree from Emmanuel, her heart belongs with Hampton University where she spent majority of her college years.  Her goal is to eventually work for the federal government.  She believes one of the most important acts of living life is giving back to the community.

Lisa Fortenberry

Lisa Fortenberry

Executive Vice President

Lisa Fortenberry is one of Boston’s most established, innovative, and inspiring leaders in the youth development field, bringing nearly 20 years of experience to her current role as the Executive Vice President of Camp Harbor View.

Since joining CHV in 2018, she’s led efforts to transform the organization from a summer camp for thousands of middle schoolers to an organization that partners holistically with young people and families through a vast range of wraparound supports. Today CHV offers year-round leadership development, college and career access, and clinical and family support programs for more than 200 young people and the adults in their lives.  Furthermore, the organization has developed and launched several initiatives to address economic stability and mobility for families, including one of the most extensive privately funded guaranteed income programs in the United States to date. Prior to CHV, Lisa held various leadership positions at City Year and Scholar Athletes. In these roles, Lisa worked strategically with Boston Public Schools and other community stakeholders to develop and scale a variety of student support programs serving thousands of young people on their path to high school graduation and post-secondary success.

The depth and breadth of Lisa’s investment in the success of Boston’s young people is also evident in her community ties. Lisa is a current board member for the American Camp Association New England affiliate as well as a Founding Trustee Member of the Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School, former board member of the Orchard Gardens K-8 School, and a participant in many community initiatives over the last decade including Boston Public Schools’ Level 4 School turnaround efforts and district redesign teams. She also served as Senior Fellow for the Institute of Nonprofit Practice Core Certificate program.  Lisa is an alumnus of Bridgewater State University and a graduate of UMass Boston’s Emerging Leaders Program and the American Express Leadership Academy. Lisa is a current fellow in the Black Leadership Institute out of the Institute for Nonprofit Practice and a resident of Quincy with her husband, Stephen, and their two sons.

Elizabeth Donohue

Director of Philanthropic Operations

Elizabeth Donohue has been a part of the Camp Harbor View family since 2012, serving as a managerial stakeholder in a number of capacities including development and finance, external partnerships, operations and organizational sustainability. As the Director of Philanthropic Operations, she works with the leadership team identifying infrastructure and product outcomes that will prioritize strategic opportunities for Camp Harbor View’s growth. In partnership with her colleagues, Elizabeth manages and works to identify the appropriate organizations, timelines, and resources needed to operationalize these opportunities and works to make sure Camp Harbor View’s plans for the future are implemented and goals are met.

Elizabeth graduated from Loyola University, Maryland in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. She lives in Scituate with her husband Jake, and outside of work can usually be found walking through the woods or on the beach with her dog, Austin.

Richard Armstrong

Chief Development Officer

For more than 25 years, Richard Armstrong has forged innovative multi-sector partnerships that achieve aggressive revenue goals, enhance donor investment and engagement, and progress strategic and organizational priorities.

As a senior executive for non-profit industry leaders including now Camp Harbor View, previously Boston Ballet and City Year, Richard partners with companies and individuals to turn institutional assets into powerful and innovative brand-building platforms – sustainable, experiential, and inclusive of consumer, philanthropic, and organizational goals. Richard has worked with world class cultural institutions, innovative non-profits, artists, athletes, community, civic and corporate leaders with a singular focus on building ground-breaking partnerships and sponsorships that advance the common good and strengthen the bottom line.

Most importantly, Richard combines real-life, in-the-trenches leadership experience with executive coaching skills that bring out the best in people and their teams.
