Camp Harbor View (“CHV”, “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and will not collect any personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) about you through this website (www.campharborview.org, the “Site”) except as set forth in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy addresses how we collect, use, and disclose Personal Information, that we collect online through the Site. Through the Site, CHV provides information about our organization and programs, and opportunities to help support our work (such service, collectively and including the Site, the “Service”).
Before using the Service or submitting any Personal Information to us, please review this Privacy Policy carefully and contact us if you have any questions. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, then please do not access the Site or otherwise use the Service.
1. Information That We Collect.
Personal Information that You Provide: CHV collects Personal Information about you when you choose to share information about yourself, for example, when you make a donation, request information, or sign up for a program. This information may include, but is not limited to, your postal, e-mail address, your telephone number, and your name.
We may request Personal Information in order to invite you to receive periodic e-mail updates about our work. We occasionally send out email newsletters and direct mail communications to CHV constituents to highlight news, information, and opportunities available from CHV. You can elect not to receive communications from us, either by contacting us, or by noting your preference in response to a monitored communications from us.
We may request donor information when processing online or mailed-in donations you make to CHV. We also may ask you for Personal Information at other times, such as when you ask a question or report a problem with our Service. If you contact CHV, then we may keep a record of that session or correspondence, including a record of your e-mail address.
General Service Usage Data: When you visit, use and interact with the Service, we may collect certain information about your visit, use, or interactions. For example, we may monitor which page(s) are visited on the Site, the domains our visitors come from (e.g., google.com, yahoo.com, etc.), and broad geographical information. In particular, the following information is created and automatically logged in our systems:

2. How We Use Personal Information.
Personal Information is used to provide you with information or to deliver the Services that you have requested, and to provide you with additional Services that we believe may be of interest to you. CHV also may use the information to inform you of new services, changes or promotions, and to respond to your inquiries, comments, feedback or questions.
Donor and program participant contact information is entered into our constituent database so that we can contact you in order to:
- Supply you with information;
- Request voluntary time or monetary contributions to CHV;
- Seek completion of voluntary surveys seeking feedback for quality and service improvement purposes.
We may also use Personal Information and other information that we collect to prevent fraud, commercial activity, or misuses of our Service, and to ensure the security of IT systems architecture, and networks. Further, we may use this information to comply with legal obligations and legal process, and to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and / or that of our affiliates, you, or other third parties.
If you provide your postal address, telephone number or e-mail address to us, then you may receive periodic contacts from us. If you would like to change the way we contact you, then please contact us.
3. Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Information.
At times we may offer programs (e.g. road races) that are sponsored by or co-branded with identified third parties. By virtue of these relationships, the third parties may obtain Personal Information that you voluntarily submit to participate in that activity. CHV has no control over the third-party’s use of this information in this context.
We may also hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf. We may share your Personal Information with these business partners and third parties, including database providers, marketing agencies, and e-commerce partners who provide us with this type of assistance. These may include, but are not limited to, credit card processing, fulfillment and shipping, database management, e-mail distribution, and website management. Such parties may use your Personal Information only for the specific purpose for which they are provided the information.
We do not identify individuals as donors without their prior permission and we do not send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We do not trade or sell the Personal Information of donors. However, in the event that all or substantially all of our assets are transferred to another party, your Personal Information may be transferred to this acquiring entity and may be made available to prospective acquiring entities and / or business partners and their advisors in connection with the possible investment.
Finally, we may disclose your Personal Information to third parties in order to comply with law, law enforcement agencies, or to protect the safety or rights of CHV or others.
4. Integrity and Security.
You use the Service at your own risk. We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect Personal Information both online and offline from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, no Internet or e-mail transmission is ever fully secure or error free. In particular, e-mail sent to, or from, us may not be secure. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via the Service or e-mail. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any Personal Information to CHV via the Internet. In addition, we are not responsible for the circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Service or third party websites.
For areas of our website which require login, we ask that you help us protect against unauthorized access by keeping your password in a safe place and signing off when using a shared computer. You agree to notify us promptly in the event that you learn or suspect that your password may have been compromised. We ask that you do everything that is reasonable to ensure the security of your Personal Information as well.
5. Privacy Practices of Other Sites.
For your convenience, our Site may contain links, or addresses, that you can click to open other useful sites where we do not control the content or privacy policies. We recommend that you carefully review the approach these sites take to your privacy before you use them or provide them with information.
We assume no liability for any unauthorized actions of third parties or accidental transmission errors that may disclose Personal Information about you, and CHV is not responsible for these other sites’ privacy practices, which may be different from CHV’s privacy practices.
6. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998.
As a non-profit organization, CHV is not required to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), which establishes rules concerning the collection of Personal Information from children under the age of 13 online. Nonetheless, we do take the privacy of children online seriously. While we encourage children to visit our Site and learn more about our programs, we recommend that parents approve and closely supervise the activity of their children at this and all other online sites. We urge children to check with their parents before entering information on the Service and any web site, and we urge parents to discuss with their children restrictions regarding the online release of Personal Information to anyone that they do not know. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Information to CHV through the Service, and you would like to review or delete the child’s information, then please contact us and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.
7. Your Rights.
Upon request, we will provide you with the contact information that we maintain about you. Further, we will respond to requests for updates or changes to your Personal Information. We recognize that you may wish to limit the ways in which we contact you. If you wish to restrict the internal and external sharing of your contact information, for example by excluding certain contact by telephone, email or postal mail, please contact us.
8. International Transfers.
Our Service is controlled and operated by us from the United States and is not intended to subject us to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country, or territory other than those of the United States. Any information that you provide through the use of the Service may be stored and processed, transferred between, and accessed from, the United States and other countries which may not guarantee the same level of protection of Personal Information as the one in which you reside.
