Development Operations Manager
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Location: 46 Plympton St. and 79 Newbury St., Boston, MA
Hours: Exempt, Full-Time (2 Flex Days Available)

Summary of Position

The Development Operations Manager will play a critical role in strengthening the systems, processes, and tools that drive Camp Harbor View’s fundraising success. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this individual will manage our CRM and fundraising platforms (Salesforce, Hubspot, and GoFundMe Pro) to ensure accurate tracking of donor data, streamline development processes, and support the fundraising team with actionable insights and reporting. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in Salesforce with a collaborative approach to help our development team maximize efficiency, transparency, and impact. 

Responsibilities

Development Operations & Strategy 

  • Manage and enhance development processes to support fundraising strategy and goal achievement. 

  • Partner with fundraisers and the finance team to set, track, and report on fundraising goals across all giving streams. 

  • Facilitate prospect and moves management meetings, ensuring alignment and accountability across the team. 

  • Track and report progress for major initiatives, including the Forever Fund. 

  • Build, implement, and maintain systems to comprehensively track donor activity and engagement in Salesforce. 

  • Develop reports and dashboards to support fundraisers, leadership, and the finance team. 

  • Audit and oversee data entry to ensure accuracy and consistency of donor records. 

  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, and training for development database use. 

Identify and support mid-level donor prospecting through data analysis, digital engagement, and research tools (including iWave). 

Collaboration & Donor Stewardship 

  • Partner with colleagues to ensure consistent, meaningful donor stewardship and communication. 
  • Work cross-functionally with event teams (e.g., Beach Ball, Road Race) to ensure event-related data and reporting flow smoothly into Salesforce. 
  • Collaborate with program staff to support grant reporting, evaluation, and impact data collection. 

Finance & Operations 

  • Reconcile donations between Salesforce, financial records, and CFO reporting. 
  • Support accurate tracking of campaign, sponsorship, and grant revenue to align budget vs. actuals. 
  • Partner with the finance team to strengthen gift and grant management processes. 
  • Provide insight and operational support for strategic projects as needed (e.g., alumni engagement). 
  • Grants 
  • Maintain (or coordinate with a consultant) a calendar of grant submissions and reporting deadlines. 
  • Assist with standardized budget creation for grant proposals and reporting.  
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience required 
  • Strong expertise in Salesforce (backend administration, reporting, dashboard creation, and integration with other platforms). 
  • Demonstrated experience in development operations, nonprofit fundraising, or related field. 
  • Proven ability to build and streamline systems, processes, and tools for fundraising teams. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to partner effectively with fundraisers, finance, and program staff. 
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decision-making and identify opportunities. 
  • Knowledge of donor prospect research tools (e.g., iWave) and fundraising best practices. 
  •  Highly organized with attention to detail and a solutions-oriented approach.
