Youth and Family Support Manager
Lauren Bard leads Camp Harbor View’s Youth and Family Support program, which includes community resource coordination and social work services. The team works to support young people by integrating social-emotional supports throughout summer camp and the school year Leadership Academy as well as providing clinical services and referrals to youth and families in need. The program takes a multi-generational approach, working with adults and children to provide a multitude of services that support the whole family.
Lauren brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and formal training to her role at Camp Harbor View. Prior to joining Camp Harbor View, Lauren spent almost two decades working in Boston-based youth development organizations, most recently as the Director of Youth Development Programs at Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA). She has experience working with youth in various settings including public schools, the juvenile justice system, and the community as well as after school athletics and arts programs.
Lauren holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University with a focus on restorative practices. Lauren is also a training facilitator for topics such as bullying, suicide prevention, and gender-based violence prevention. She is a Licensed Social Worker and became fluent in Spanish while serving in Honduras as a Youth Developer for the Peace Corps.
